Flooded car park on the spring tide, Laugharne, Camarthenshire. Only a couple of hundred yards from Dylan Thomas's boathouse. Last glowing embers of the sunlight at dusk reflecting off the surface of the water. The air cool and still after the warm sea breeze felt earlier in the evening. Echo of a single call from a herring gull coming over the water from the headland. A rare feeling of tranquility in a busy world.

Varanasi (Banares), northern India. Out on the water
in a small boat at dawn on the river Ganges. Just the three of us,
me, Lynette and a teenage boy on the oars. As the sun rose, tens of
thousands of Hindu worshippers begin softly chanting their praises.
The haunting, mesmerising sound lasted ten minutes or more, followed
by a frantic blessing of offerings. The crowds were dense, around 30
deep. Those that couldn't get to the waters edge passed their baskets
of offerings down to the river to be splashed with the sacred water.

The mist rising from the water, ethereal. vibrant green of the over hanging trees, infinite flow. The water passed through out so many living creatures, it's endless journey.

I have taken inspiration from your themes of water and spirit ..... The photo has an eerie quality to it, seeming almost ghost like and unreal. I love the stillness of the water and the framing effect of the posts. It is as if you are on the edge of the world looking out. I am moved by the place where this photo was taken; Titichfield Haven at Meon shore, it is so tranquil and harks back to an earlier simpler time. At five in the morning it is as if it is just you and this place that exists and nothing else matters.
